Organisations are increasingly looking to supplement their car fleet with bicycles, in order to reduce carbon emissions, create a healthier workforce and lower fleet management costs.

Integrating cycling with public transport in Victoria

The Institute for Sensible Transport has been commissioned by the Victorian Department of Transport to undertake a technical evaluation of the carriage of bicycles on regional public transport. The report seeks to better understand current levels of integration between cycling and public transport and forecasts estimated demand to 2020. It will provide a range of options for improving conditions for Victorians wishing to combine cycling with regional public transport. The report is expected to be handed to the Government in mid-2010.
