Urban Bike Training Courses

The Institute for Sensible Transport recognise that significant barriers to reducing car use and adopting sustainable transport behaviours exist. One of these barriers is the real and perceived risk to cyclist safety from motor vehicles. With this in mind, the Institute offers Urban Bike Training courses. This can be in the form of individual or group lessons, to households and organisations. The content is flexible, depending on skill level and personal needs. We can help:

  • Find the right bike
  • Understand the road rules as they apply to bicyclists
  • Avoid getting hit by cars
  • Change a flat tyre and other basic maintenance
  • Combine bicycle travel with public transport
  • Establish a bicycle fleet for organisations

All bicycle training sessions are run by one of our accredited and experienced Bicycle Instructors.
